Sorry about the lack of blogs the last few days. I thought this was going to be a easy, laid back week at work. I was thinking of taking a few half days to pack up my house items and finalize any purchases for my trek. Well, that was the thought...until Friday afternoon. While sitting at work, I was informed about an engagement in which I might be needed. A few hours later, that information was confirmed. Sunday night, I flew into Memphis for a week long engagement. As I mentioned a few post back, it is how my job works...we get engagements and then the next thing you know; you are going out of town. It has stressed me out a little as I thought I was going to be able use this week to my benefit by being in the office. Now I am down to just a few days of getting ready. However, there has been good that has come out of this trip. First, the team I am working with is great. Second, going to Memphis gave me a chance to see my parents and some friends before I left. I even was able to treat my co-workers to Mom and Dad's home cooking. It is not too often, if at all, where you get a chance to get your parents to cook for you while work traveling. The dinner provided for a time of laughs as friends and co-workers tried to share stories (and even old pictures) of me.
Colby, let me know if you have any more questions.
As for other places I have taken the co-workers to, we've had Huey's and Rendezvous. Tomorrow for lunch, we are going to attempt to make it to Gus' Fried Chicken on the way to the airport. Known for their "friend chicken and 40's."
