Questions Answered

Breiti, that was Brad Millard who was hiking with me. How do you know him?

For those that have offered to send mail drops/food pkgs. First of all, thanks. Secondly, I will get back to you with when and where. I have to plan things before I can just have you send them.

As for the shins, they are doing well. The compression socks seem to be doing the trick. They still hurt going downhill and when I step on something wrong. However they are not swollen anymore and the pain just seems to be the normal wear and tear on my body.

I am doing fairly well on the blisters...knock on wood. I do have one on my right pinky toe where it gets smashed under my other toe. I try tape and what not, but I think it is something I will have to deal with until I get my trail running shoes.

And the trekking poles. Just to be clear, Skywalker did not steal anything. The thing to do is either leave them there or hike them out to a hostel or something. That way you might cross paths with the person who left them. He did not know DS had already found out whose they were. They are now back in the appropriate hands. A classic case of this is with DM's hat. She accidentally dropped it on the trail. A guy picked it up and carried it for two weeks until he caught up with us in Hot Springs. That is how the community works out here. It is a really cool thing.

  1. Brad and I worked both at Transaction Services until he resigned. I am still there.

My girlfriend and I are just sitting at Leon's in Decatur and read your website. She is very impressed about your commitment and mission.

Another German friend told me today that he occasionally reads your blog. We have been to Machu Picchu and the Galapagos Islands together last year. He hiked to the top of the Kilimanjaro last month! So we both like to travel and to hike.
