New Tent, YES!!!....wait, no

Over the last few weeks I have been debating on getting a new tent. My main go-to tent, yes, I have more than one already, is the MSR Hubba Hubba. It is great when it comes to weekend trips with friends as it is a 2 person tent that weights only 4 lbs 11 oz. Most would say that is nothing. It really isn't until you are carrying it for 6 months. Some hikers go to extreme measures to cut weight and save an ounce here or there. Ounces add up and by saving a few pounds, I will be able to perhaps pack more food and stay out on trail for longer periods of time without resupplying. After doing some research and going to the local REI to check out multiple types of tents, I decided to go with the Big Agnes Seedhouse SL1. This is a one person tent that weights 2 lbs 13 oz. I will be able to make it even lighter by not carrying the stuff sack and poll sack. I also think Michelle likes the 1 person tent idea as it will keep me from being tent mates with some hairy Sasquatch I meet on the trail. Well, unless it comes down to survival and staying warm.

So, this past Saturday I was playing around on my iTouch and saw a great deal for a Seedhouse 1. I went ahead and purchased it. For some reason I had my doubts afterward. It arrived at my house yesterday, and my doubts were confirmed. I had ordered a Seedhouse 1 and not the "SL1." The "non-SL" is 4 lbs 4 oz, not the 2 lbs 13 oz. I expected. Therefore back in the box it goes to be returned. Don't worry though; I found a deal on the SL1. Purchased and in the mail...whoop whoop.
